Jump Between the Editor and the Previewer
When you are working on a long book, the editor and the previewer can drift out of sync. A keyboard shortcut puts them back together so you do not have to scroll through your manuscript hunting for the same paragraph on both sides.
Keyboard Shortcuts
| Direction | Windows | Mac |
|---|---|---|
| Editor to Previewer | Ctrl+] | Cmd+] |
| Previewer to Editor | Ctrl+[ | Cmd+[ |
You can change these to other keys you prefer. See keyboard shortcuts for how to customize them.
Editor to Previewer
Click on any element in the editor (a paragraph, a blockquote, an image, a callout box, or anything else you have inserted) and press the shortcut. The previewer scrolls to that exact spot.
Previewer to Editor
Click on a paragraph or element in the previewer and press the shortcut. The editor jumps to that paragraph and gives it a highlight so you can see right where you landed.
EPUB and Print
Sync works both ways in the e-reader device previewers and in print preview. In the e-reader device previewers you will also see a small flash behind the paragraph or element when the preview lands on it, which makes it easier to see where you are. The print previewer does not flash.
