Section Style Settings

Open Customize Section Settings from a section’s Options menu to change how a single section behaves, without touching the rest of your book. The panel has two tabs: Text and Display.

Text

These override your book-wide typography for this section only. Each one starts on Default until you change it.

  • Indent All Paragraphs. Whether this section’s paragraphs are indented: Default, Enabled, or Disabled. This also decides which paragraph spacing applies.
  • Left Indent. Shifts this section’s content to the right, with an Elements to Indent picker that chooses which kinds move (paragraphs, images, tables, subheadings, and more). See Indentation for the full walkthrough.

Under First Paragraph:

  • Indent First Paragraph. Whether the opening paragraph after a heading is indented (Default, Enabled, Disabled). Turn this off when you use a drop cap.
  • Drop Cap. Whether this section opens with a drop cap (Default, Enabled, Disabled).
  • First Line Style. Styling for the first line: Default, Disabled, or Small Caps.

Display

Choose which parts of the heading appear for this section:

  • Show Title in Header
  • Show Subtitle in Header
  • Show Image in Header

Apply or Reset

At the bottom of the panel:

  • Apply to Other Sections copies these settings to sections you choose.
  • Reset to Defaults clears this section’s overrides and returns it to your book-wide settings.
