First Paragraph Styling
First paragraph styling controls how the opening paragraph of each section looks. It applies to chapter types by default, and you can use it on any section.
First Line Styling
Style the first line of the opening paragraph differently from the rest:
- Text Style. Normal or Small Caps.
- Font Size. XS, S, M, L, or XL.
Apply After
By default, the first-line style appears only at the very start of a section. The Apply After options also apply it to paragraphs that follow certain elements, so the look repeats further down:
- Ornamental Breaks. Style the first line of any paragraph that comes after an ornamental break.
- Subheadings (H1 to H6). Style the first line of any paragraph that comes after a subheading.
Related
- Indentation: whether the first paragraph is indented.
- Drop Caps: a large opening letter for the first paragraph.
