Print Preview (Beta)

The Print Previewer generates your actual print-ready PDF so you can see exactly how your book will look when published through KDP, IngramSpark, or other print-on-demand services.

The Print Previewer is currently in beta. A faster preview mode is coming soon.

When to Use Print Preview

Use the Print Previewer at the tail end of your formatting process. For most of your formatting work, use the EPUB device preview, which updates almost instantaneously. When you’re nearing completion and want to see your final printed book, switch to the Print Previewer.

Recommended workflow:

1. Make formatting changes and preview with EPUB devices for instant feedback
2. Once satisfied with your formatting, switch to Print Preview to verify final appearance
3. Check margins, trim sizes, and page layout for print publication

• Exact print appearance - See your book precisely as it will print
• Realistic margins - View actual margins for your chosen trim size
• Multiple trim sizes - Preview different book dimensions
• KDP/IngramSpark accurate - Matches exactly what print-on-demand services will produce
• Full navigation - Navigate pages just like the EPUB preview

Performance Note

The Print Previewer is slower than EPUB preview because it renders the complete PDF with exact print specifications. This is why you should reserve it for final verification rather than active formatting work.

Navigation

• Previous/Next buttons - Navigate between pages in sequence
• Click any section in sidebar to jump to that chapter’s first page
• Re-click current section to return to its beginning

For quick formatting changes and instant feedback, continue using the EPUB device preview. Switch to Print Preview when you’re ready to verify your final print-ready book.
