Lacuna Pricing and Plans

Lacuna is a free download that you can use to import your manuscript, explore themes, and preview your book. A purchase is only required when you’re ready to generate your final EPUB file.

Purchasing

How much does Lacuna cost?

Lacuna EPUB is $99 USD as a one-time purchase. This gives you lifetime access to the software with all future updates included.

We’re also developing Lacuna Print (EPUB + Print) which will be $149 USD. Currently, only Lacuna EPUB is available, but all current customers will receive a free upgrade to the print version when it launches.

How do I purchase a license?

Visit lacuna.pub/pricing to purchase your license. After completing your purchase, you’ll activate the license directly within the Lacuna application.

Is this a subscription or one-time purchase?

Lacuna is a one-time purchase. No monthly or yearly fees.

Will I have to pay for updates?

No. All software updates are included with your purchase for life. You’ll never pay for version upgrades.

Is there a free trial?

Yes! You can download and use Lacuna completely free for as long as needed. The only limitation is that you cannot generate final EPUB files until you purchase a license. This means you can:

Import and structure your entire manuscript
Apply and customize themes
Preview your book exactly as it will appear
Test all features thoroughly

What’s your refund policy?

Since Lacuna offers a comprehensive free trial, you should know exactly what you’re purchasing before buying. However, if you encounter technical issues with your purchase or have an emergency situation, we’ll work with you to resolve it. Contact us at support@lacuna.pub.

Licensing

Can I use my license on multiple computers?

Each license is for one user and can be active on one device at a time. However, you can deactivate Lacuna on one computer and activate it on another as needed.

Can I format books for other authors?

Yes! You can use your Lacuna license to format books for clients or other authors. Please note that we can only provide technical support to licensed customers, not end users who don’t own the software.

No. Each license is tied to an individual user and cannot be shared. If multiple people need access, each person requires their own license.

Is there a limit to how many books I can create?

No limits! Create as many books as you can write, under as many pen names as you want.

What are the system requirements?

Operating System: Windows 8 or later
Memory: 4GB RAM minimum
Processor: 2GHz CPU or faster
Storage: 500MB free disk space for installation, plus additional space for your book projects

Does Lacuna work on Mac or Linux?

Currently, Lacuna is Windows-only. We’re focused on delivering the best possible experience for Windows users.

Can I run Lacuna on older versions of Windows?

Lacuna requires Windows 7 or later.

Activation & Technical

How do I activate my license?

After purchasing from lacuna.pub/pricing, you’ll receive activation instructions. The license is activated directly within the Lacuna application. You don’t need any separate downloads or installations required.

What if I get a new computer?

Simply deactivate Lacuna on your old computer and activate it on your new one using the same license. If you no longer have access to your old computer, contact support@lacuna.pub for assistance.
